Terms of Service

PlateMatch helps a group decide what to eat: everyone swipes through recipes or restaurants, and the app shows what you all agreed on. Accounts add cookbooks, meal plans and grocery lists. PlateMatch is free to use.

Use it only for lawful purposes. Don't try to disrupt the service, get around its limits, access sessions, cookbooks or lists you weren't invited to, or collect data from it in bulk.

You don't need an account to host or join a swiping session. If you create one, with an email address and password or with Google, keep your login details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including on any device where you stay signed in.

You can save recipes from links, pasted text and screenshots, type your own, and share cookbooks and grocery lists with other people. Only add content you have the right to use. You keep whatever rights you have in it, and you allow us to store it and show it to you and to the people you share it with, which is what the app needs to work.

Recipes saved from other sites and posts belong to their creators, and PlateMatch links back to the original wherever there is one. If you believe something on PlateMatch infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with a link to it and we will look into it.

Recipes and restaurant details come from third parties, including Spoonacular, Google and the sites and posts recipes are saved from, and recipes read from a link, text or screenshots are read automatically and can contain mistakes. We don't guarantee that any recipe, ingredient list, allergen or nutrition detail, restaurant listing, price or opening time is accurate, complete or suitable for you.

Always check ingredients, allergy information and cooking instructions against the original source and the product packaging, and check restaurant details with the restaurant.

PlateMatch links to and depends on other services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability, content or transactions.

Affiliate disclosure. A grocery list or a recipe's ingredients can be sent to Instacart to order. PlateMatch takes part in Instacart's affiliate program, which means we may earn a commission on orders placed after following one of those links. This costs you nothing extra, and it does not affect which recipes you are shown or what ends up on a list: a list is built from the recipes you chose, and nothing is added to it for commercial reasons. Instacart is available in the United States and Canada only. Prices, availability, substitutions, delivery and refunds are between you, Instacart and the store you pick.

A restaurant match can include a link to find that restaurant on DoorDash.

If you sign in with Google, you also agree to Google's Terms of Service.

PlateMatch is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. You are responsible for what you cook, order and eat. To the extent the law allows, PlateMatch is not liable for food reactions, dietary conflicts, cooking outcomes, lost data, or any direct or indirect damages arising from your use of the service.

We may change or stop parts of PlateMatch, and we may suspend access for anyone who breaks these terms. We may also update these terms; the date at the top says when they last changed. Continuing to use PlateMatch after an update means you accept the new terms.
